Vacation Bible School

An education opportunity offered annually, one week during the summer from 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM for children, youth and adults.

Vacation Bible School's (VBS) curriculum for children is selected by a group ofSunday Church School teachers. The children's materials include daily Bible stories, games, and crafts that are associated with the theme and Bible verses for the day.

The Youth experience is a week ofhands-on service projects in the community. Hours served are often submitted to their public school for volunteer service requirements.

The pastors select and lead a Bible Study for adults.

Vacation Bible School is typically a child's program but we are proud that our youth program has had as many as 15 attend and we've had over 30 adults attend the Pastor's VBS Bible study. The children's attendance is usually around 50 with teachers and helpers rounding out the numbers with another 30 participants.

Each day begins with the group at large gathering for singing with the "Bible School Band", puppet skits and announcements. An offering is collected to help defer some of the costs and to collect funds for the week's project. Some of the projects in the past have been to collect personal toiletry items for the needy and The Heifer Project, to collect pennies to give a healthy heifer (cow) to a family in an poor country. This gives the family enough milk to drink and share with neighbors and still have enough left over to sell. We've also have had collections for our refugee family support program.

Snacks and beverages are offered from donations from the congregation.

Each year, participants bring T-shirts to be screen-printed with the display of the VBS theme on the front.
